The Mixed and Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Italy are important organisations which play a strong role in the social, economic and political landscape of this country, directly representing as they do the wider business community. This makes them an extremely effective tool for increasing the level of interchange between Italy and the countries involved and thus to encourage development of this country's economy.
Unioncamere, "Unione Italiana delle Camere di Commercio, Industria e Artigianato" (The Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts) promotes, performs and manages services and activities of interest to the entire network of chambers of commerce throughout the country.
The Mixed Chambers of Commerce Section is active in Italy in encouraging bilateral relationships between the respective countries of origin and Italy, through actions which focus on introducing businesses to the market. The Mixed Chambers of Commerce Section, set up by Unioncamere, brings together the Mixed and Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Italy, recognised by the Italian government, that operate to facilitate contact between business and foreign markets by means of partnerships, targeted agreements and common projects.
As part of the 2009 plans of the Section to promote the development of promotional activities of the Mixed and Foreign Chambers of Commerce, a project was been conceived which saw the institution of a Desk of the Mixed and Foreign Chambers of Commerce at the Fiera Milano (Milan Trade Fair site), at the entrance to the new Rho/Pero exhibition space.
The Desk, inaugurated in April 2009, seeks to offer assistance and information to companies regarding the services of the Mixed and Foreign Chambers of Commerce, and will remain open throughout all the trade fairs to be held at least up until December 2009. It will be open, therefore, during the following events: Emo Milano 2009 (5-10 October), Smau (23-31 October), Com-pa, Viscom (3-7 November), Eicma Moto e Bici 2009 (10-15 November), Simei, Enovitis (24-28 November) and A/F L'Artigiano In Fiera (5-13 December).
The Swiss, British, French, Indian, Argentinian, Chinese, Brazilian, Moldavian, Uzbeki, Polish, Russian and Italo-Oriental Chambers of Commerce are currently supporting this initiative. The participation of the BCCI in the project will thus allow visitors to gather material and information related to the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy and the services it offers.
