 Richard Slater is the managing partner of the Simmons & Simmons Italian practice and divides his time between the firm’s offices in Milan, Rome and Padua.
After obtaining degrees in chemistry (City University, London) and law (Cambridge University), Richard joined Simmons & Simmons in 1975 and became a partner in 1980.
Richard is a corporate lawyer with a focus on financial institutions. He is also a specialist in the law applicable to investment funds and the regulation of financial institutions. Prior to moving to Italy in 2003 he was a member of the Financial Services Authority’s Lawyers Consultative Group and the Law Society’s Collective Investment Scheme sub-committee.
Currently, Richard is a member of the Simmons & Simmons International Executive Committee.
When time permits, Richard is to be found with his wife and three children at their house in Umbria.
