Pier Carlo Marengo was born in Turin on January 29th, 1926.

In 1946 Mr. Marengo was employed by Credito Italiano and in September of 1954 he graduated from the Turin University with a First Class Honours Degree in Economics. In 1953 Mr. Marengo was appointed Holder of Procuration and 2 years later was posted abroad to the Representative Office in New York, where in 1965 he assumed the role of Representative for North America.  Pier Carlo Marengo returned to the Head Office in Milan in 1971 and in 1973 was promoted Deputy General Manager.  In 1982 he became General Manager of the bank and in 1985 was appointed Managing Director, the position of which he held until April 1994.

In the last five years Mr. Marengo has held positions as Director for some important institutions in the world of banking and finance. At present Pier Carlo Marengo holds the following positions:                                                 

• Chairman, Aviva Spa (Aviva Group - London)
• Chairman, Nuovi Investimenti SIM Spa                               

HONOURS:
“Cavaliere del Lavoro” and “Grande Ufficiale dell'Ordine al Merito” of the Italian Republic, “Chevalier” of the  “Légion D’Honneur”.
