Michael Taylor is based in Milan. Michael has over 30 years' experience in the energy field. He has been named by Chambers and Partners Guide to the Legal Profession as one of the leading lawyers in the UK in both the energy and project finance fields.
Michael read law at St John’s College, University of Cambridge, joined Norton Rose in 1974 and became a partner in 1979. Michael has spoken at recent conferences and seminars on, amongst others, US sanctions against Iran and the EU response, power station financing in the UK and Italy, the financing of energy projects in Central and Eastern Europe and the privatisation of the electricity industries in the UK and the Czech Republic.
Michael has served on the Committee of the UK Oil Lawyers Group, is a member of the Editorial Board of International Energy Law and Taxation Review, a member of the Institute of Petroleum and a fellow of the Society for Advanced Legal Study. Michael is co-author of a book on oil & gas joint ventures (Taylor and Winsor on Joint Operating Agreements, Longman, 2nd ed. 1992) and has recently written articles on the Italian electricity industry for Project Finance International and Power in Europe.
