We wish to inform you that at a specially convened meeting of the Council on 13th April, Sebastian Buca announced his resignation as President of the BCCI. He explained that:
"Due to an increase in my responsibilities with my employer, which require my full focus as well as a larger amount of time to be spent on the business, I have resigned, effective immediately, from my role of President of the BCCI.
I am leaving the BCCI but am not leaving the British culture, business and values. I have been honoured to be your President and thank the Council, the staff, the Secretary General and all you members for being close to me in my journey and wish you all the best for the future."
British Consul General and Head of DIT Tim Flear led the way in thanking Sebastian for his efforts as a Councillor and President of the Chamber since July 2016.
On an interim basis, John Law will assume the role of Acting President, supported by VPs John Stewart and Paolo Gibello. Aside from helping to assure that the daily work of the Chamber continues smoothly, their intention is to move as quickly as possible towards the election of a new President.
