Ignacio Izquierdo is Chief Executive Officer of Aviva Italy since October 2017.
Ignacio is also board member and Audit Committee chairman of Nacional de Reaseguros, the Spanish reinsurance leader.
Previously he was the CEO of Aviva Spain and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aviva group companies in Spain. He was also Chairman of Aviva Gestión, the asset management unit of Aviva in Spain and board member of Aviva Poland.
He joined Aviva in 2008 coming from Santander Asset Management UK, where he held the position of Chief Executive Officer.
He was linked to Santander Group from 1996 where he held different management positions such as Business Director of Santander Asset Management or Managing Director of Santander Private Banking. In January 2005 he joined Santander UK, in London, as executive member of the retail bank and being responsible for the Savings and Investment business.
He has been ExCo member of UNESPA, the Spanish Insurance Association and member of the advisory Board of the Chairman of the CEOE, the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations.
Having strong interest in CSR, Ignacio is member of the board of trustees of Orbayu foundation (Microloans for developing societies) and mentor of Endeavor.
He is councilor of the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy and fellow of the Institute of board members and administrators (ICA) in Spain.
Ignacio has a degree in Marketing and a Master degree in Financial Administration and completed the leading CEO program in Digital Business in ISDI.
