Honorary Regional Secretary for Scotland
Kitty Bruce-Gardyne (Mackenzie) graduated from Exeter University in 1985 with a degree in Spanish, and then headed to Italy, to acquaint herself with a new language and culture. Her first connection with the BCCI was back in 1986 when she joined the Chamber as PA to Chief Executive Gavin Clezy OBE, when the Milan office was at Via Agnello 8. From here she was invited to join the International Marketing Division of the The Towry Law Group in Windsor, where she stayed for the next 5 years. However, the magical lure of Italy couldn’t keep her away and she returned to the rolling hills of Tuscany and Umbria where she worked for the Alternative Travel Group for the next two years.
In 1992 Gavin Clezy invited her back to the Chamber to step into his shoes, which provided a golden opportunity for her return to the work she loved. Two years later family life took over, and the first of her four daughters were born.
Kitty returned to the UK in 1997and has lived in Edinburgh with her family since 2000. Last year she founded Scotland for the Bon Viveur to showcase the very best of Made in Scotland – from Cashmere and Tweed, to Whisky and Salmon. She also runs two luxury holiday apartments by Edinburgh Castle.
EXPO Milan 2015 is an exciting time for Scotland to be joining forces with the British Chamber in Milan. Kitty is on hand to offer support to Chamber members with business interests in Scotland, and vice versa, network with SDI, and the Italian and Edinburgh Chambers, all of which are very active over here. In addition there will be new opportunities for Scottish Legal Visits, Chamber Whisky Tastings, Salmon fishing, and even Aberdeen Angus beef events, all on Scottish soil!
